The Author, Ronit Hillary Garjy

Shalom! My name is Ronit,  I am a Jewish woman with an American mother and Israeli father, and a devoted follower of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

I was raised as a reformed Jew, and we believe in God, but had very little religious education. I believed that because I was Jewish, I was chosen by God and therefore special to Him. I had never studied the Torah, nor did I know anything more about Him than what I learned as a child from my American grandfather. He read me foundational stories from the Bible, but I learned the most about God and His great salvation of Israel from our yearly Passover Seders, which I loved dearly. Being half Israeli, I spent many summers there as a child, and so I feel an even deeper connection to the people and the land. I did believe that God prepared our destinies, and I thought that if He wanted me to be religious, He would have given me to a religious family. I believed that I was fortunate that I was not born into a life of religion, and that as long as I wasn’t killing anyone, I was generally a good person. I believed because I am a Jew and the God of Israel is the King of Heaven, I would go to Heaven when I died. I believed being chosen meant we were guaranteed to be in Heaven with Him. I never thought about Heaven much beyond that, and most assuredly I never thought about Hell; I lived my life in the world seeking out career success and worldly pleasure, believing I would meet God when I died.

In 2012, I got involved with a group of people who claimed to be spiritual healers, but were actually practicing high-level witchcraft. I quickly became ensnared and found myself in deep demonic bondage. After a year, I discovered I was in trouble, but at that point, I was in way too deep and was being physically attacked by many demons; it was like I had woken up in a horror film that I couldn’t escape from. For the first time in my life, I cried out to God from my heart – I blacked out but when I woke up it was still happening; God had not saved me yet. Over the course of my life, I had been to Temple on some High Holy Days, but I had never prayed to God personally. I didn’t know where to begin to find help, but I knew this with profound certainty: The God of Israel is the Most-High God and Creator of the universe, He created all things, He created me in His image, and I knew that He loved me. I believed that because I was Jewish, I belonged to Him and that He would save me from these supernatural attacks.

Being Jewish, I sought out a Rabbi who sadly, could not help me because in reality, they only follow religious traditions. If you look at Israel’s history in the Bible, we walked with God by His Spirit from the moment we were saved out of Egypt and all through Temple times. God has not changed, but religion has! Israel has been practicing man-made religion for thousands of years without the Spirit of God. We have become so accustomed to this that we don’t think it’s strange to live life this way, but it is not what God wants for us. He wants to be with us every day, the way we were back then, but even closer. He wants to walk with us and live life with us and lead us to destiny, like He did for our ancestors. It takes revelation and understanding to see this, but He promises this is what He would do for us through the prophets:

“Behold, days are coming”
—it is a declaration of Adonai
“when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah—” – Jeremiah 31:30 TLV

“Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them.” – Ezekiel 36:26-27 TLV

These are both prophecies from our Hebrew scriptures! God promised Israel a New Covenant where He would one day give us His Spirit to come live in our hearts. This is supernatural and powerful!

I still desperately needed help, so after my conversation with the Rabbi, I had recalled some details I’d heard about the Baptist Church having knowledge about Hell and demons – I would never have gone to a church, but this is what I needed help with, and I had nowhere else to possibly go. I contacted a small church in Miami, and after briefly explaining my circumstances, they understood and said they could help me. They had me come to their church that evening. The woman in charge sat with me for three hours and explained to me who Jesus was and that He would save me. I didn’t fully understand everything she shared, but I was desperate, and I said that if Jesus could help me, I would receive Him. I accepted Him into my heart that night, and I remember being scared. I thought, “Will God be mad at me for this?” because Jewish people are taught that Jesus is the God of the Gentiles, and that he is not “for us”. I didn’t know at the time that it was everything else I was doing spiritually which was wrong in God’s eyes, and that Yeshua came to pay the price for all of my mistakes and transgressions before God. In Temple, I had never learned that God had planned to give Israel and the world a New Covenant by which He would save us all from spiritual death, pay the price for our sins Himself, and give us eternal life in His Kingdom but all of these promises are in our Hebrew scriptures!

God would establish the New Covenant through a Son of Israel from the line of King David. He would be the One whom God would send to pay the price for our sins and restore us to Him spiritually for eternity. Miraculously, He would be born of a virgin by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh and be called Immanuel, meaning “God With Us”:

Therefore Adonai Himself will give you a sign:

Behold, the virgin will conceive.
When she is giving birth to a son,
she will call his name Immanuel
.” – Isaiah 7:14 TLV

In Isaiah again, we see the Son would indeed be God Himself, who would come to us as a Man through the line of King David, and go on to rule and reign the universe in righteousness:

For to us a child is born,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be upon His shoulder.
His Name will be called
    Wonderful Counselor,
    Mighty God
    My Father of Eternity,
    Prince of Peace
.
Of the increase of His government
and shalom there will be no end—
on the throne of David and over His kingdom
to establish it and uphold it
    through justice and righteousness
    from now until forevermore.
The zeal of Adonai-Tzva’ot
    will accomplish this.
” – Isaiah 9:5-6 TLV

Like the story of Joseph and his brothers, Israel would be destined to reject Him, but Yeshua would still come to us and offer forgiveness of sins and salvation, to the Jewish people first:

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief,
One from whom people hide their faces.
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs
    and carried our pains.
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
    struck by God, and afflicted.

But He was pierced because of our transgressions,
crushed because of our iniquities.
The chastisement for our shalom was upon Him,
and by His stripes we are healed.
” –
Isaiah 53:3-5 TLV

His sacrifice would give us peace with God, and we would no longer require the Temple, priesthood, or animal sacrifices for sins as laid out in the Old Testament. Even the Feasts of Israel point to Him; He is called the Lamb of God because He was destined to give His life as a sacrifice on Passover for our sins, and also to resurrect on First Fruits, Yom Ha Bikurim, becoming the Firstborn among many of us who will resurrect to eternal life. He is also now our Kohen Gadol in the order of Melchizedek, an eternal heavenly priesthood whereby He intercedes for us when we pray and ask God to forgive us. We still have a Priesthood and sacrificial system in place, it is just now in the Heavens instead of on the Earth.

It has always been in God’s plan that not only would Jewish people belong to Him, but that all nations would be saved and become what He calls “one new man” in the Messiah, breaking down barriers between Jew and Gentile :

Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles (Nations), That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” – Isaiah 49:6 NKJV

This is a prophecy given to Israel through the Prophet Isaiah concerning the Messiah, given hundreds of years before Yeshua came to Israel. God planned that the Messiah would not only restore the tribes of Israel but also bring the Gentiles into God’s eternal Kingdom. Yeshua means “Salvation” or “God Saves” in Hebrew! Yeshua is the Messiah who came to save us all!

Blow the shofar in Zion!
Sound an alarm on My holy mountain!
Let all living in the land tremble—
for the day of Adonai is coming—
surely it is near!”
– Joel 2:1 TLV

Adonai Yeshua is coming back!

There are many prophecies concerning the return of the Messiah, called “The Day of the Lord”. God has been speaking to me about the End Times, about preparing for His return, and what it means for the nation of Israel and the world. In this blog, I will share what He reveals to me concerning these things, as well as my personal journey of spiritual growth and transformation as a Jewish disciple of Yeshua.

May the Word of God reach your hearts and take root. May you find Yeshua here on these pages and may God open your eyes to see the truth and return to Him to have a personal, intimate relationship together. Teshuva! No more false man-made religon but a real relationship with the God of Israel, the way we had when He walked with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, with Moses and David and Esther, is the same way He wants to walk with you today:

“But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.” – Deuteronomy 4:29
