Passover: God’s Appointed Time of Miracles

Passover: the celebration of the liberation of Israel out of Egypt after 430 years in slavery. We are only a few days away from the first day of this Biblical Feast which begins April 8th on the secular calendar. On the Biblical calendar, we are in what is called the month of Nisan (Miracles) where the first day of Passover falls on the 14th.

The English Bible tells us that God establishes Biblical feasts in seasons but the original Hebrew word used is actually called Moedim, which means ‘appointed times’. God is a God of order, or ‘seder’ in Hebrew. The observance of the Passover holiday itself involves a ‘seder’ of events to follow so that we remember all of His great and mighty acts, giving Him reverence for the powerful deliverance that He gave to the nation of Israel, bringing us out of Egypt with unprecedented miracles!

Backing up just a bit to the Book of Genesis, in the beginning, we learn of God’s order of creation. On the fourth day, God created the lights (Sun, Moon and stars) in the heavens, specifically to point out to us His appointed times:

“Then God said, “Let lights in the expanse of the sky be for separating the day from the night. They will be for signs and for seasons and for days and years.” Gen 1:14 TLV

The word ‘seasons’ which appears in many translations, is the word Moedim, which means appointed times. The signs are miracles, the appointed times are for God’s feasts and appearances.

The reason this is important for us today is because we are in a pivotal moment in the time of all creation. Our whole world has stopped because of a plague and we are just a few days away from Passover.

There have been many Prophets in the Bible but the most important one to have ever lived is Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the world. Yeshua prophecied about the End of the Age (End Times) which at the time his disciples asked when he would return and what would be the signs of the end. He gave them several warnings and specifically he spoke of the incredible signs we would experience just before that time would come upon us:

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.” Matthew 24:7-8 NHEB

Not only are we experiencing this worldwide virus but there have been numerous plagues of locusts around the world. Only five days ago the Los Angeles Times posted this photo of a locust swarm occuring right now in East Africa:

The newspaper wrote that this swarm has landed on East Africa like a Biblical plague, laying waste to crops and livelihood. Another monumental sign of the beginning of birth pains Yeshua spoke about.

Yeshua came first to rescue, redeem and restore us back to God through his life, death and resurrection. He will be returning again for the final day but all of this now is not the end but only the beginning of these things. They are the signs Yeshua spoke about that are occuring during the appointed times on God’s calendar.

We can look to the Bible and see how God works with man to overcome evil, even pushing back creation and the elements to accomplish His will. In Exodus 14, the children of Israel are at a pivotal moment of salvation: the Egyptian army is behind them and the Reed Sea is in front. They cry out to Moses in fear but he encourages them:

“Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14 NIV

It’s interesting to note that the great deliverance God gives to Israel occurs in the 14th chapter. Seven is the number of completion in the Bible, therefore fourteen symbolizes absolute completion; perfection. God’s promised deliverance to us is sealed in the 14th verse:

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14 – Double confirmation! Passover always falls on Nisan 14, Miraculous freedom celebrated on the 14th day!

What happens next? God tells Moses not to beseech Him but to move Israel forward, to lift up his staff (anointed rod) and stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it, and the children of Israel will go through the midst of the Sea on dry ground. Now since the moment Pharoah sent Israel out of Egypt, the Lord was leading them by a pillar of cloud in the day and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light. He hemmed them in day and night with His presence in both the cloud and fire.

God speaks to us in many ways, one of them being visions. In recent weeks He has been impressing these visions upon me; several times He showed me the pillar of cloud hemming in the children of Israel as they walked through the mountainous desert. One more recent vision was the edge of the ocean tide just beginning to part, a gentle lap of the sea but the beginning of the waters parting nonetheless.

“Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.” Exodus 14:21 NLT

Because of what God has shown me, I am believing that He is preparing a great deliverance for us this Passover season. He is leading us out of this lockdown (Egypt) and pushing back the darkness so that we will all be rejoicing over our freedom on this Moedim. Hallelujah!

These visions He has shown me may just be for my own personal deliverance that He has promised but I am praying and believing for more; for the freedom and healing of the nations! Let us stand together and remember God’s awesome mighty miracles; the creation of the universe, the birth of the nation of Israel at Passover; these signs on the earth and in the heavenlies that confirm His Word to us in the Bible. Let us praise Adonai for creating us and sending a Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, the Greater Moses, to save us forever. The Bible promises us that whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved, Yeshua is His Name!

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121

Let us decree and declare the end of this virus! Let’s join in unity to push back the darkness and command the virus to die! In the Messiah, God gave us authority over all power of the enemy and every human being made in the image of God has the power of life and death in their tongue. Prophesy!

“Lord, we thank You that the power of life and death is in our tongues. As your Sons and Daughters, we now command this virus to die and be destroyed in Yeshua’s Name. We loose your Mighty angels to fight the enemy and demand that the Nations be set free. We Praise You for the Anointing of the Passover season and thank You that you speak to us through your appointed times and seasons. We will not die but live and declare Your Glory in the Nations, You are Almighty, All-Powerful God and just as You brought Israel out of Egypt with a Mighty Outstretched Arm, so shall You deliver this Earth from Corona Virus. Praise You Adonai!”

You can trust in God to lead you during these unprecedented times. Invite Yeshua into your heart and make him the Savior and Lord of your life. He will comfort you, guide you and give you victory as you follow Him, just like He did for the children of Israel out of Egypt. Baruch HaShem Yeshua!
